Charles Wells Banana Bread Beer Is Fem-ale Festival Favourite

As 1,200 tired CAMRA volunteers head home from last week's Great British Beer Festival which closed its doors at 7pm on Saturday, CAMRA today released preliminary results which show a record attendance of almost 12,000 people on Friday, and an increase in the amount of beer sold with over 200,000 pints consumed.

'live' Football Is Enfield Licensee's Goal

7A soccer-mad licensee is planning to boost training facilities for young, budding future David Beckhams by converting part of his pub garden into an all-weather artificial 'pitch'. Russell Brown, tenant of The Wheatsheaf in Baker Street, Enfield, is hoping Enfield Borough Council will approve his plan - part of a £32,000 improvement scheme by Bedford brewer Charles Wells, which owns the pub.
